Former GSA commissioner joins software services firm

Jim Williams has been named senior vice president of Global Professional Services at Daon, a provider of identity assurance software and services.

Williams, former commissioner of the General Services Administration’s Federal Acquisition Service and acting GSA Administrator, also will serve on the boards of directors for Daon and Daon Trusted Identity Services, a joint venture with the American Association of Airport Executives.

Both appointments are effective Sept. 1.

Williams has more than 30 years of government service, including as director of the U.S. Visitor and Immigrant Status Indicator Technology program at the Homeland Security Department.

In recognition of his long-term contributions to federal service and for his commitment to public service, employee development and collaboration, Williams recently was presented with the Franke Award, the highest honor bestowed by the American Council of Technology.

Daon, of Reston, Va., also has offices in Washington, D.C.; New York; Canberra, Australia; Singapore; London; New Delhi; and Dublin.
