Former Lockheed VP signs on at Information Innovators

Daniel Matthews steps into new role after retiring from giant contractor

Daniel Matthews, who retired last week as vice president of government relations at Lockheed Martin Corp., hasn’t wasted time finding new employment. Matthews has joined Information Innovators Inc. as senior vice president of strategic programs, according to a company announcement today.

In his new role, “Matthews will provide strategic leadership and develop new partnerships across the company’s core service areas, enterprise services, information assurance and security management, program and project management, and strategic planning,” the Information Innovators statement said.

Information Innovators is a service-disabled veteran-owned small business in Springfield, Va.

Before joining Lockheed Martin four years ago, Mathews was chief information officer at the Transportation Department, serving as principal adviser to the secretary on information management and technology.

Matthews previously worked at Savantage Financial Services, where as senior vice president he led efforts to modernize the financial management systems at a number of federal agencies, the statement said.

Matthews is an Air Force veteran and holds a master's degree in business administration.
