FEMA seeks social media contractor
Federal Emergency Management Agency wants to deliver broadcast, social media assistance from disaster sites

The Federal Emergency Management Agency is searching for a media services company that can deliver information from disaster areas via social media and local media news outlets, according to a contract solicitation
posted on the Federal Business Opportunities Web site.
The contract is only for small businesses that averaged $29.5 million in annual receipts over the last three years, according to the announcement which was updated with new details on Feb. 3. The contract will be with FEMA’s Office of External Affairs.
FEMA needs on-demand services of a media services company with experience in deploying professional broadcast transmission equipment and crews to various locations throughout the continental United States, Alaska, Hawaii, the Virgin Islands, Guam, American Samoa and the commonwealths of Puerto Rico and the Northern Mariana Islands, according to the solicitation.
These services will be used during pre- and post-declared federal disasters to disseminate information to the public.
Responses to the solicitation request are due by 1 p.m. on March 2. The contract is scheduled to be awarded on March 19. It will likely be a one-year contract with four, one-year options, according to the solicitation.
