Alion provides Navy with logistics and data management support

Alion, of McLean, Va., ranks on Washington Technology’s 2009 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.

Alion Science and Technology Corp. has won an $8.6 million modification to a previously awarded contract to support the Navy’s Littoral Combat Ship program office.

Under the terms of the contract, Alion’s support of LCS includes program planning and management, and business and financial management planning and execution.

The award also covers systems engineering, test and evaluation engineering, life cycle engineering and support, logistics and operation support, configuration and data management engineering, and combat systems development.

The company will perform the work in Washington, D.C., and is expected to complete it by September. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington Navy Yard, D.C., is the contracting activity.
