DRC provides acquisition support to Forest Service

Dynamics Research Corp. has won a four-year contract with an estimated ceiling of $7 million from the Agriculture Department to provide acquisition support services to the Forest Service.

Under the terms of the contract, DRC will provide pre-award and post-award acquisition support to Forest Service regions for emerging task orders, including aid during the strategy and planning, solicitation and development, and award and execution stages.

DRC will manage the acquisition support life cycle by assessing acquisition needs, developing plans of action, and ensuring that the Forest Service is meeting requirements and tracking progress. That support will help USDA meet the challenges facing the Forest Service by improving acquisition management operations and processes, company officials said.

The blanket purchase agreement awarded to DRC was part of the $1.5 billion in federal funds allocated to USDA to help create nearly 30,000 jobs under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

DRC, of Andover, Mass., is also tasked with providing acquisition support to help distribute the funds for Forest Service infrastructure projects. The money will help achieve land management objectives by funding major Forest Service projects, the officials said.
