CGI to assist HUD's multifamily programs

CGI Federal will provide business process outsourcing services to the Housing and Urban Development Department following the signing of an unspecified number of one-year contract renewals estimated to be worth a total of $30.6 million.

The U.S. subsidiary of CGI Group Inc. will provide BPO services to administer HUD multifamily housing programs in Florida, New York and Northern California.

CGI is responsible for more than 25 percent of the nationwide housing portfolio administered by HUD's multifamily housing program, company officials said. In addition to serving Florida, New York and Northern California, CGI administers similar contracts in Ohio and Washington, D.C.

Housing assistance payments processed by CGI total more than $1.98 billion annually, making the contractor, based in Fairfax, Va., the largest HUD processor in the United States, the officials said.

CGI Group, of Montreal, ranks No. 73 on Washington Technology's 2008 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
