General Dynamics wins Fort Rucker deal

General Dynamics will provide information technology services to Fort Rucker, Ala., under a five-year, $33 million contract.

General Dynamics Information Technology will provide all of the information technology services for Fort Rucker, Ala., under a five-year, $33 million contract.

Under the contract, General Dynamics IT will furnish telecommunications, visual information, information assurance and automation services to support Fort Rucker and the 14 field training sites outside the geographic boundaries of the post.

The Army Aviation Warfighting Center is the chief organization at Fort Rucker. By providing reliable IT services, the company will help ensure that the organizations housed at Fort Rucker can perform their daily missions supporting the aviation community, said Zannie Smith, senior vice president of the Army Solutions Division for General Dynamics IT.

The Army Installation Management Command awarded the task order through the Information Technology Enterprise Solutions-2 Services program.
