CSSI names new president

Allen Tiedman has been promoted to president of CSSI Inc., a Washington-based research and engineering company.

Tiedman joined the company last year and served as executive vice president. He led business development, marketing and sales management. In his new post, he'll oversee operations and focus on growth strategies.

"CSSI's reputation and performance have positioned us for rapid growth and expansion into adjacent markets," said Cindy Castillo, CEO of CSSI, in a company statement.

CSSI's major customers include the FAA, Navy and NASA. The company specializes in investment strategy and analysis, systems engineering, information management and application development, and operations analysis and implementation.

Tiedman served in the Air Force, retiring as a colonel. He then became associate director and vice chancellor of the University of California, Los Alamos National Laboratory. He's also worked at Johnson Controls and FC Business Systems.
