Cipriano joins Lockheed Martin

Lockheed Martin Corp. hired Joseph Cipriano, the former Navy program executive officer for information technology, to serve on its information technology team as vice president for advanced solutions.

In his new position, Cipriano will assist Bethesda, Md.-based Lockheed Martin in designing major proposals that support federal agencies and commercial clients. He also will be responsible for crafting the company's strategy for future, large-scale, managed system procurements.

Cipriano has an extensive government service background. Most recently, he served as the Navy's program executive officer for IT from 1999 through September 2002. In that capacity, he was in charge of developing and fielding the Navy-Marine Corps Intranet program, as well as overseeing enterprisewide applications, such as the Defense Integrated Military Human Resource System and the Navy Standard Integrated Personnel System.
