VDOT re-ups Halifax for seat management services

Halifax Corp. won a three-year $20 million contract renewal from the Virginia Department of Transportation to provide seat management services, the company announced Oct 22. The renewal has an additional three-year option.

Halifax of Alexandria, Va., has been providing VDOT with seat management services on an agencywide basis since 1998, said company officials.

Under the contract, Halifax provides support services for desktop and laptop computers, servers and printers for 7,700 users within VDOT.

Halifax's partner is Hewlett-Packard Co. of Palo Alto, Calif. The contract also includes an additional $15 million to $18 million of HP hardware sales.

Halifax is a managed services company that provides a wide range of information technology services to commercial and government customers. The company's principal products are enterprise maintenance solutions, seat management and IT solutions and federal communications services.

Halifax has about 500 employees and annual revenue of $50 million.
