Internet Security Systems Inc. has expanded its global managed security operations with the opening of new centers in Atlanta and Tokyo.

Located at ISS headquarters in Atlanta, the new ISS Global Threat Operations Center expands the existing center there, adding the ability to globally coordinate security threat data and disseminate critical countermeasure intelligence to customers worldwide.

The Asia Pacific Security Operations Center in Tokyo complements ISS' centers in Atlanta; Southfield, Mich.; Helseinborg, Sweden; and Padova, Italy.

The centers provide security monitoring, support and response to customers throughout Japan, Australia, New Zealand, northeast and southeast Asia and India.

Market analysis shows that companies want their networks monitored by a security operations center located near them, said Tari Schreider, vice president of global managed security services operations for ISS.

"They also want to know that [center] engineers understand the regional cultural aspects that drive so many hack attacks," she said. n
