Orincon Defense, a unit of Orincon Corporation International (OCI), announced Sept. 5 that its Hawaii operation has been selected by the Office of Naval Research to serve as the prime contractor, system architect and integrator for the Navy's Theater Undersea Warfare initiative.
The indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract has a ceiling of $25 million. The contract was executed under a Phase III Small Business Innovative Research award. The program will be managed through the technical division of the Greater Mid-Pacific Branch of the Office of Naval Research, located at the Pacific Missile Range Facility, Kekaha, Hawaii.
Work on the Navy's Theater Undersea Warfare initiative will be performed in Oahu, Hawaii and Maui, Hawaii, and will be completed by June 2007. It is anticipated that Orincon will increase its technical staff on both Oahu and Maui.
The company will be supported by Anteon Corp., Fairfax, Va., and the collaborative engineering, technical and computational resources of the Air Force Research Laboratory/Maui High Performance Computing Center in Kihei, Hawaii.
