Anteon nets Navy tech work

Anteon Corp. of Fairfax, Va., has won a five-year, $93 million contract from the Naval Surface Warfare Center to help move new technologies from research and development to shipboard use, the company announced.

Under the contract, Anteon will provide engineering and technological support services to the Navy's Enabling Technologies program for the transition of smart-technology processes to ships.

The contract will support the Navy's efforts to reduce manning requirements for ships by incorporating technologies, such as Web-connecting sensors, to provide real-time information on the status of various ship systems.

Anteon is an information technology and systems engineering and integration company that provides support to the federal government and international sectors. The company has more than 5,400 employees and annual revenue of $715 million.
