Taiwan RFP out soon<@VM>ID equipment needed<@VM>IRS hosting small business session

The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command in March will release a request for proposals for the Taiwan Advanced Tactical Data Link System. The acquisition includes design and development of hardware and software, integration, test, installation and training for numerous platforms and systems. Only companies with a current Defense Department "confidential" facility security clearance may obtain and respond to the solicitation. The synopsis of this opportunity can be found at fedbizopps.gov, solicitation no. N00039-02-R-0001.The Army Training and Doctrine Command is looking for information on a stationary identification scanning device to be used at the entrance to military bases and other secured areas. This device must be able to read information via bar code at a distance of up to two feet; be able to televise an image of the individual presenting the card and the bar code data; feed the data to a central control panel. The deadline for responses is Feb. 19.The Internal Revenue Service is hosting an IRS Prime Contract opportunity session Feb. 7 and 8, providing one-on-one counseling with the contract holder, Computer Sciences Corp., and its major partners, IBM Corp., Unisys Corp., Science Applications International Corp., Northrop Grumman Corp., Avaya Inc. and KPMG Consulting Inc.

The event is limited to small businesses, and attendees are limited to meeting with three of the companies. It is being held at the IRS Procurement Office, 6009 Oxon Hill Road, Oxon Hill, Md. Companies must pre-register, and attendance is on a first-come, first-served basis. To register, e-mail Jodie Paustian at Jodie.L.Paustian@irs.gov. Include the attendee's name and title; company name, address, phone and fax numbers, business size, niche area of the business and names of the three companies to meet with.
