SAIC Picks Up Maxwell Units

Science Applications International Corp., San Diego, acquired three business units of Maxwell Technologies Systems Division Inc. for SAIC's Defense Technology Group.

Science Applications International Corp., San Diego, acquired three business units of Maxwell Technologies Systems Division Inc. for SAIC's Defense Technology Group.

The units work in contract research and development; electronics technology; and high-power microwave and pulsed power. The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. About 100 Maxwell employees are expected to become SAIC employees as a result of the acquisition.

The SAIC Defense Technology Group provides high-technology physics and engineering services to support Department of Defense research and development agencies.
