Litton Industries Inc. of Woodland Hills, Calif., today announced that its TASC Inc. subsidiary won a five-year, $57 million contract with a U.S. intelligence agency to provide systems engineering and technical assistance support for Trailblazer, a major foreign signals intelligence modernization initiative.
The cost-plus award fee contract includes options to extend the contract for three one-year periods.
"Trailblazer will quite literally blaze a trail in helping this customer transform its signals intelligence collection, processing, analysis and dissemination system," said James Frey, Litton senior vice president and president of TASC.
In October 2000, Litton TASC announced it won a $170 million contract with another U.S. government agency for related systems engineering and technical assistance. The TASC subsidiary is headquartered in Chantilly, Va.
The Litton TASC contractor team includes Affiliated Computer Services Inc., ACT, Conquest Technology Inc., Litton PRC Inc. and Titan Corp.
TASC has provided specialized engineering and technical services to the U.S. intelligence community for more than 25 years, the company said.
