Netgov, Oracle Team Up

Netgov.com of Chicago and Oracle Corp. of Redwood Shores, Calif., have forged an alliance to deliver online purchasing to local governments.

The arrangement was made official when Netgov joined the OracleExchange.com Affiliate Program.

Netgov will work with Oracle to create an online marketplace that Netgov will offer to both new and existing government customers. Netgov will target midsized cities and counties, said Forrest Claypool, Netgov's senior vice president for business development.

The Netgov e-Marketplace will offer
e-procurement tools, such as catalog shopping, online contracts, sealed bid management, request for quote and public auctions.
