SAIC Acquires Consulting Firm for Undisclosed Price

Science Applications International Corp. of San Diego has acquired Bunyard Enterprises Inc. of Alexandria, Va., SAIC announced today.

The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed by privately held SAIC.

BEI will become a division of SAIC's National Security Studies and Strategies Group, said SAIC officials.

BEI President and Chief Executive Officer J. Max Bunyard will work for SAIC on a part-time basis, while BEI Executive Vice President Charles Green will be assigned a leadership role in the new division.

"The synergy between BEI and SAIC will enhance our existing capabilities and help us provide a greater depth and breadth of policy and strategic capabilities to our customers," said Frank Jenkins, group senior vice president and manager of SAIC's Strategies Group.

"The BEI acquisition provides SAIC with a formidable, senior-level acquisition experienced organization, and it is an excellent match between the two companies," Bunyard said.

BEI, a government and industry consulting firm, supports defense, aerospace, engineering and research organizations in the public and private sectors. It has 15 employees and reported revenue of $2.8 million in 1999.
