By William Welsh, Staff Writer

OCT. 20 ? Tyler Technologies Inc. has won a five-year $4.7 million contract to provide systems and information outsourcing services to Denton County, Texas.

Dallas-based Tyler Technologies announced Oct. 18 that its Government Record Services unit will install a document management and imaging system known as 20/20 Perfect Vision for the Denton County Clerk's office.

The system will handle official public records, maps and plats, vital statistics and commissioners' court minutes, said company officials.

Tyler Technologies also will provide information management outsourcing services, including computerized indexing, imaging and micrographics services related to land records.

When the technology is installed, Denton County residents will be able to retrieve and review their land and deed records and plats, and the county will have an automated system to issue and record marriage licenses for the first time, said Cynthia Mitchell, Denton County Clerk.

The Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area is located in Denton County. The company expects to complete the installation by the end of 2000.

Tyler Technologies provides electronic government information management solutions to local governments throughout the United States.
