SEPT. 29 ? Berryman & Henigar Inc., a municipal professional services firm in San Diego, has signed an agreement with the city of Sunnyvale, Calif., to sell the city's suite of e-government solutions to other U.S. municipalities, the company announced.

The e-government solutions, which include applications for using the Internet to pay for and obtain building permits, enforce building safety and reserve parks and recreation facilities, were developed in-house by Sunnyvale's information technology staff.

These systems are up and running, except for the parks and recreation system, which is under final development stages.

The agreement gives Berryman & Henigar an exclusive license to sell the package of solutions.

"We found that many other cities want to obtain the software," said Robert LaSala, Sunnyvale's city manager. "The public-private partnership that we have created with Berryman & Henigar will now enable other municipalities to benefit from the use of our software."

The applications already are being used by the city of Mountain View, Calif., and another city is adopting the suite. In addition, 10 other cities and some local agencies, primarily in California, have expressed interest in the applications.

GovPartner, an affiliate company of Berryman & Henigar, will perform the work. GovPartner was established in May to provide e-government solutions to small and medium-sized governments.
