Tier Technologies Inks Ala. Payment Processing Deal

AUG. 22 ? Tier Technologies Inc. of Walnut Creek, Calif., Aug. 22 signed a $7 million contract with the state of Alabama. Tier Technologies will lead the centralization, implementation and operation of Alabama's child support collection lockbox/payment identification unit.


The three-year contract has three one-year renewal options.


Tier Technologies provides business and information technology consulting, application development, software engineering, business process outsourcing and application service centers that facilitate the migration of clients' enterprisewide systems and applications to leading-edge technologies, including e-commerce.


The company serves governments and businesses from offices in the United States, Australia and the United Kingdom.


Thirteen state governments use Tier Technologies' proprietary payment processing software.


"This contract win offers further recognition that Tier has the industry-leading technology and the domain expertise state governments need to ensure full compliance with federal requirements. We look forward to beginning our relationship with the state of Alabama," said James Weaver, president of Tier's government services unit.
