MAY 11 - PlanetGov, the first Web portal designed especially for current and former government emplo
yees, is set for debut May 24, according to company officials

PlanetGov, based in Fairfax, Va., will provide government professionals with news, daily columns, online learning tools and government career and job postings.

PlanetGov (www.planetgov.com) was founded by management and owners of Intellisys Technology Corp., a privately held technology solutions provider in Fairfax that focuses on the federal government. ITC has annual revenue of $200 million. The site is funded by a mix of venture capital and ITC; however, officials would not release specific details.

"With PlanetGov, we are providing government professionals everything they need to feel more connected, and to have easy access to the specialized information and knowledge they need" said Steven Baldwin, president and CEO of Planet Government and ITC

Among those to be featured on PlanetGov is Mike Causey, former columnist of the "Federal Diary" for The Washington Post. Content also will focus on professional development, technology trends, product reviews, continuing education and training, pay tables, agency-provided child care and other resources.
