MAY 5 ? ComTeq Federal Inc. of Rockville, Md., won a $10 million blanket purchase agreement from the Energy Department to supply the agency with computer and networking equipment.

ComTeq, a reseller of such equipment, teamed with Compaq Computer Corp. of Houston on the agreement. Compaq will be one of ComTeq's leading suppliers on the deal

"We are extremely pleased that the Department of Energy recognized ComTeq's capability and capacity to help serve the computing and networking needs of the agency," said Gary Sorkin, president of ComTeq. "Based on our years of experience in the industry and our enhanced relationship with [the Energy Department,] we believe we can successfully compete for a larger share of the agency's business over the next few years."

ComTeq is a subsidiary of PC Connection Inc. of Merrimack, N.H., which acquired ComTeq in June 1999 as a way to move into the government space.
