What will be your three main tasks or goals?

"Drive new e-business initiatives, particularly in solution areas such as customer relationship management, enterprise resource planning and business intelligence. These play to our strengths and our already-established market presence in e-business for government. Grow share of IBM servers, storage and software in the federal marketplace. Optimize our channel coverage through business partners, [federal systems integrators] and the World Wide Web."

How important is the federal market to IBM?

"The federal market is critical to IBM. It is a strong and growing market where we have historically done very well."
