The Department of Law in Juneau, Alaska, selected Comsys, Sacramento, Calif., to provide a criminal case tracking system. The system will replace the Prosecutor Management Information System and allow for more accurate and effective sharing of information among the 15 agency offices and other criminal justice agencies. The contract, awarded in June, is valued at $497,000.

The Bureau of Employment Programs in Charleston, W.Va., hired Xerox Corp., Southfield, Mich., for on-site project management and consultation in the procurement and implementation of an electronic document management system. The contract, awarded in June, is valued at $440,000.

The Taxation and Revenue Department in Santa Fe, N.M., hired BDM, McLean, Va., for independent verification and validation services. These services will include quality assurance oversight of software development, system integration testing and user acceptance testing for the development of a Taxation and Revenue Information Management System. The contract, awarded in June, is valued at $4.2 million over three years.

The Department of Motor Vehicles in Richmond, Va., selected Polaroid, Cambridge, Mass., for a turnkey driver's license/ID card production system. The system will provide image capture, transmission, storage and retrieval for 77 motor vehicle offices and will produce about 2 million licenses and identification cards per year. The contract, awarded in May, is valued at about $8.93 million over five years.

The Department of Social Services in Jefferson City, Mo., picked Medstat Group, Ann Arbor, Mich., to develop and install a Medicaid Decision Support System. The contract, awarded in June, is valued at $6 million.

The Nevada Department of Information Services, Carson City, Nev., chose BDM, McLean, to install an integrated statewide child welfare information system. The contract for the Unified Nevada Information Technology for Youth project, awarded in April, is valued at $13 million.
