BTG Strengthens Security Offering with Alliance:
BTG Inc., Vienna, Va., is targeting the security market with an alliance with Trusted Computer Solutions Inc., Herndon, Va. Trusted Computer Solutions specializes in the integration and engineering of secure systems. The partnership between the two companies hopes to capture business with the defense and intelligence communities, BTG officials said. Trusted Computer Solutions allows organizations to securely separate their data according to user-definable criteria, such as need-to-know, classification, department or duties.

Artemis Adds PowerPlay:
Artemis Management Systems Inc., Boulder, Colo., will integrate PowerPlay and Impromptu in a new product under an agreement signed with Cognos Inc., Burlington, Mass. The partnership will allow Artemis to use Cognos' online analytical processing technology in a new product called Artemis GlobalView. The product will allow users to manipulate data and display it in a variety of formats.

CACI Pursues Agriculture Market:
CACI International, Arlington, Va., is using a subcontract with IBM Corp. to increase its work for the Agriculture Department. CACI will subcontract on a $212 million automated data processing contract that IBM, Armonk, N.Y., has with the Pentagon. CACI also hired former Agriculture official Sidney Haggard to oversee work with the Agriculture Department.

Coopers & Lybrand Gains Netscape Designation:
Coopers & Lybrand LLP, New York, has joined forces with Netscape Communications Corp., Mountain View, Calif., to become a Netscape Global Systems Integrator. As such, Coopers & Lybrand's Consulting Solutions Thru Technology unit will target electronic commerce and transaction processing consulting services using Netscape products.

Next-Generation Computing Target of HP-Informix Pact:
Hewlett-Packard Co., Palo Alto, Calif., and Informix Software Inc., Menlo Park, Calif., will be pursuing solutions for next-generation computing under a joint technology development and integration effort. These solutions would combine Informix's universal server technology with HP's next-generation Pervasive Solutions Foundation based on Intel architecture, 64-bit processors. The two companies said they want to help customers move into a new era where the enterprise is extended through the Internet to include customers, partners, suppliers, resellers, multiple global divisions and employees who work remotely.
