Jazz Up Your Writing

Sometimes your newspaper is about as colorful as a definition.

Take, for instance, the definition of 'technology.' Quoting Merriam Webster's 9th New Collegiate Edition, technology is either:

technical language (which doesn't tell us anything because it uses the root in the definition)

a scientific method of achieving a practical purpose

See how dull that was. And what has it told us? Not much. What is technology really? It's change. Technology is change.

Most of the articles in WT are the epitome of definition 'b' above. Scientific, practical. Can't they also be colorful?

I may be wrong, but I believe that one goal of a publication is to increase its subscriber base. WT can do that by adding color. It can still present the same facts, only with a little personality.

You've got a great product with knowledgeable and competent staff writers, and tapped into something that Washington is becoming known for (more than its crime/politics): technology.

So how about it? How about a little change?
