Moving On: Richard Prins, who specializes in investment banking for the telecom industry, is moving full time to the McLean office of Ferris Baker Watts to be at the center of the action. Joining the migration from its N Street offices is a team from Shaw Pittman Potts &amp Trowbridge, including technology partner Steve Meltzer and John Dealy, of counsel to the firm, now hanging their shingles in the Tysons Corner office.

Local Business: Four locals have been named to a 14-member small business technology advisory board being assembled by Microsoft. They include Laura Henderson, CEO of Prospect Associates; Jose Nino, president of the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce; Bennie L. Thayer, president of the National Association for the Self-Employed; and David Voight, Small Business Center director of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Henderson has been a stalwart of the Professional Services Council.

Head Start: Jeff Bergman, Landmark Systems co-founder, is leading Interboard, which helps CEOs in the $5 million to $50 million revenue range assemble an advisory board with good credentials as a prelude to forming an official board of directors.

New Board: Compex CEO Harry Garcia has named 15 to his newly created board of directors, including politico Ed DeBolt, who hosted a dinner honoring the group.

Retiring: Hollie Cantus, former Lockheed government affairs executive, has told friends he will retire shortly from ICF Kaiser to set up his own consulting practice for federal and regional technology policy issues.

Up for a Job: Jamie Gorelick, former Defense Department general counsel and currently deputy attorney general, is on the short list for a high-profile, possibly Cabinet-level position in Clinton II.
