The Veterans Health Administration is considering whether to hold an industry day to discuss a new contract to build a system to make the delivery of health care and other services more efficient.

Known as VHA Integrated Healthcare Transformation, the eventual contract will be a multiple award vehicle for veteran-owned companies .

The contract will have nine service areas:

  • Program and project management and integration
  • Improvement and change management
  • Data and analysis
  • Training
  • Strategic communications and implementation
  • Supply chain
  • Financial management modernization
  • Policy support

The contract will support VA efforts to create a more efficient health care system to serve U.S. veterans.

Bidders also will need to have expertise in the health IT arena and VA is asking for respondents to the RFI to have experience in this area in both government and the commercial markets within the last five years.

In the new RFI, VA is looking for comment on whether it should hold an industry day in the next two months in the Washington, D.C.-area.

Comments are due April 19.
