First protest hits new CIO-SP3 awards

The first protest has landed over the small business on-ramp awards for the National Institutes of Health CIO-SP3 contract.

Pro-Sphere Tek has filed over a protest with the Government Accountability Office because it wasn’t one of the 38 companies added to NIH’s $20 billion vehicle.

This was the first set of on-ramp awards for the CIO-SP3 vehicle and was open to service-disabled, veteran owned businesses. Evaluations are still underway for the general small business, 8(a) and HUBZone groups.

The on-ramp awards run through Oct. 31, 2022 and cover IT services on medical equipment and other health care technology systems.

Support for the chief information officer, imaging, outsourcing, operations and maintenance, integration, and IT infrastructure protection also are included as are digital government and software development.

Pro-Sphere Tek is headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia and specializes in health IT. It is on several large IDIQ contracts including the Veterans Affairs T4NG contract, Alliant 2 Small Business and Homeland Security Department Eagle II.

The company filed its protest April 5. A decision from GAO is expected July 16.
