The deal is done: CenturyLink and Level 3 are one

With the last hurdle cleared, CenturyLink and Level 3 have closed their merger.
The CenturyLink-Level 3 combination is done. The companies have completed their merger to create a new entity with $24 billion in annual revenue.
On Monday, CenturyLink announced it had received approval from the Federal Communication Commission. That was the last regulatory hurdle the companies needed to clear.
The new, larger CenturyLink now gets 75 percent of its core revenue from enterprise customers such as the government. Nearly two-thirds of revenue come from strategic services, the company said.
Both CenturyLink and Level 3 networks combined can connect to 350 metropolitan areas with more than 100,000 fiber-enabled, on-net buildings.
“CenturyLink is now poised to offer an expanded, robust portfolio of communications solutions focused on our customers’ networking and IT services needs,” CEO Glen Post said in a statement.
Within the federal market, CenturyLink and Level 3 both won spots on the General Services Administration's $50 billion Enterprise Infrastructure Solutions contract vehicle.
The company has created a landing page with videos and other details about the new CenturyLink.
