Mythics captures $293.2M Air Force deal for products

Mythics has added another Oracle feather to its cap by winning a $293.2 million Air Force contract to provide Oracle products under an enterprise license agreement.

Mythics Inc. has added another big Oracle feather to its cap by winning a $293.2 million Air Force contract to provide Oracle products to the service under an enterprise software license agreement.

The company did not respond to a request for comment on the win, which was announced on the Defense Department’s contracts page.

The Air Force contract was competed among Mythics, DLT Solutions and Affigent, all holders of the Oracle Department of Defense Enterprise Software Initiative blanket purchase agreement.

The new contract consolidates 745,768 Oracle licenses currently in use by the service and is an unlimited license agreement for Oracle products. The agreement should improve Oracle license management, provide access to the MilCloud and other cloud service providers and allow use of Air Force Oracle software in the joint environment, DOD said.

The contract also will allow for the replacement of Oracle products approaching their end of life.

The contract runs through Feb. 28, 2022.

For Mythics, the win is another in a line of Oracle-related contracts and other accolades.

Last year, it won a BPA with the State Department for Oracle products. The value was not disclosed. It also won contracts with the states of New York and Illinois to provide Oracle products.

Oracle recognized the company with a 2016 Oracle Excellence Award for Specialized Partner of the Year in North American for its work with the Oracle cloud.

The use of enterprise licenses is growing, particularly at the Defense Department, because it allows the government to leverage its buying power to lower per unit costs as well as create a path for new products and technology refresh.
