Altamira expands intelligence business with acquisition

Altamira Technologies is expanding its intelligence business the acquisition of Prime Solutions, a company that specializes in cyber operations.

Altamira Technologies Corp. is building out its intelligence business with the acquisition of Prime Solutions LLC, a Columbia, Md., company that specializes in cyber operations.

Prime Solutions’ customer base is mostly comprised of U.S. intelligence agencies.

Altamira also has a strong intelligence and defense business, much of which is built around its data analytics tools and solutions.

“We look forward to bringing their significant cyber operations capabilities across the breadth of our portfolio of customers and to broadening and deepening our relationship with NSA through them,” said Ted Davies, president and CEO of Altamira.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The investment bank Houlihan Lokey served as advisor to Prime Solutions.

Davis also cited culture in explaining one of the reasons they made the deal. He said Prime Solutions had a “strong focus on the success of their people and their customers.”

Prime Solutions was founded in 2003 and is best known for its computer network operations work intelligence agencies. Among its lines of offerings are system vulnerability analysis, reverse engineering, CNO software development, network engineering and defense, malware analysis and defensive vulnerability analysis.

Altamira’s announcement said called Prime Solutions’ employees “experts in tools, tactics and techniques used in cyber warfare.”

“Our global landscape remains a volatile ecosystem where solutions must outpace the ever evolving threats from our adversaries,” said Jonathan Moneymaker, executive vice president and chief strategy officer of Altamira, in a release. “The acquisition of Prime Solutions into the Altamira platform accelerates both companies’ strategic objectives in delivering world class solutions to the national security market.”

The company listed the benefits of the deal as being easier access to offerings across multiple customer agencies, proven infrastructure for investing and bringing research and development to market, and development and deployment of employees with broad mission perspective and experiences.
