AT&T challenges MacB's Air Force win

AT&T's challenge of MacAulay Brown's $37.9 million Air Force contract shows how much the market has changed to bring these two companies into a head-to-head competition.

AT&T Government Solutions is challenging an Air Force award to MacAulay Brown worth $37.9 million.

Little is publicly available on the contract as the statement of work apparently is classified. The contract’s solicitation number is FA8773-15-D-8301.

AT&T is arguing that it should have won the contract, not MacB.

One thing that is interesting to me about this protest is that AT&T and MacB are going head to head. It shows the evolution of the market for both the large telecom companies such as AT&T, which have built up substantial professional services business, and companies such as MacB, which are getting into higher-end network services.

Even five years ago, you might not see them competing against each other, but today, you do.

Both companies are on Alliant, SeaPort-e, and some of the same GSA schedules including ones for IT and professional services.

I don’t know what contract the Air Force award was competed under, but if you do, let me know.
