PSC joins forces with WT parent on new tradeshow

The Professional Services Council has signed on with 1105 Media to be a founding partner on the new Acquire Show, a two-day conference and trade show built around government acquisition and management.

The Professional Services Council and Washington Technology parent company, 1105 Media, have formed a strategic partnership around the Acquire Show, which 1105 is launching next year.

Acquire will be a two-day educational conference and trade show built around government acquisition and management.

PSC is coming on as a founding partner of the event, to be held in June 2016 at the Washington, D.C., Convention Center.

The idea behind Acquire is to help government agencies create, manage and run successful programs. The initial focus is on IT, professional services and office management. As the show grows over the coming years, the plan is to add other related tracks, or hubs, as we are calling them.

Because government can’t operate without contractors, Washington Technology will have a large presence at the show.

We are planning to hold a couple WT Industry Days where we’ll focus on particular agencies and explore the business opportunities at those agencies. We’ll be looking for more opportunities for WT readers to connect with customers and partners.

Having PSC on board in such a large way will help both with the contractor side of the equation as well as with the government side.

“This powerful partnership brings together two leading teams and respected providers of information and services for the government market,” said Anne A. Armstrong, co-president and chief content officer for 1105 Public Sector Media Group.

“Since the idea of the Acquire Show was first born, we have been looking for a partner with a reputation of excellence and an established relationship with many segments of the government market. We believe PSC is a perfect match,” she said.

Stan Soloway, president and CEO of PSC said, “The combination of acquisition and technology pavilions at Acquire opens the door to a wide array of creative and substantive ways to explore the challenges to, and opportunities for, enhancing the delivery of technology and professional services to the federal government.”

That goal “speaks directly to PSC’s core mission and focus and aligns PSC perfectly with the Acquire objectives,” he said.
