Army finalizes $774M ITES 2H extension

The Army has added another year and another $774 million to its ITES 2H contract as it buys some more time to get a new contract awarded.
As expected, the Army has extended the ITES 2H contract for hardware, software and related services for another year and another $774 million dollars.
The $5 billion contract needs more time because the Army isn’t ready to make awards for the follow-on ITES 3H contract.
The Army first signaled the need for an extension with a FedBizOpps notice last month. On Monday, it announced the extension on the DefenseLink webpage.
The Army uses the hardware contracts to buy a wide scope of technology including servers, desktops, notebooks, workstations, thin clients and storage systems as well as networking capabilities. Government users can also purchase support services such as configuration management, installation and warranty and maintenance services.
Contract awards are expected by the third-quarter of 2015, according to Army documents posted on Deltek.
With the extension only lasting through June 23, 2015, another extension is possible because the Army will likely face bid protests following the awards.
The current contract holder receiving the extensions are:
- Dell
- IBM
- Unicom Government Inc.
- CDW Government
- Iron Bow Technologies
- World Wide Technology Inc.
