Katrina: Two years later

ICF International Inc. of Fairfax, Va., was tasked more than a year ago with managing the Road Home program to distribute money to people in Louisiana who lost their homes. The company has come under fire for allegedly moving slowly. Today's Washington Post has an interesting story outlining the problems and ICF's response. The also outlines ICF's revenue growth since winning the contract. The Post has been hit or miss in how it covers government contracting. (Full disclosure: Washington Technology was owned by the Washington Post Co. until the end of 2006.) This story is mostly a hit, largely because of the amount of time the article gives to ICF executives, such as Chief Executive Officer Sudhakar Kesavan, Chief Operating Officer John Wasson and Douglas Beck, a senior vice president. There used to be an old joke that if Mike Wallace and 60 Minutes are knocking on your front door, don't open it.I disagree. Companies with integrity, swing the door open.
