Peraton can tout this $500M background investigation tech OTA

Perspecta's book of business included development work on technology to support background investigations for clearances that is now held by Peraton and further expands through this latest $500 million OTA award.

By bringing Perspecta into its fold, Peraton added a significant book of business in the field of underlying technology that supports background checks to adjudicate security clearances.

Included in that is an ongoing effort with the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency to prototype a new enterprise IT architecture that incorporates data analytics into the adjudication process.

DCSA is now accelerating that work under a new potential five-year, $500 million Other Transaction Authority agreement announced Friday that will see Perspecta/Peraton further prototype a comprehensive IT system for those investigations.

Perspecta has received two OTAs for this overall effort: the first in 2018 for $49 million to develop a prototype for an integrated case management system, then a second $75 million award the following year to incorporate augmenting functions such as artificial intelligence and cloud computing.

The new agreement will focus on further building up and expanding business systems that support the overall enterprise IT application. Work will take place over one initial base year and up to four individual option years.
