Navy hands down $778.9M modernization support awards

Eleven companies will compete for task orders to help the Navy in its platform modernization efforts under a $778.9 million contract.

The Navy has awarded 11 companies positions on a potential six-year, $778.9 million contract to carry out engineering and technical support services as part of the branch's broader platform modernization effort.

Awardees will compete for task orders through March 2027 under the Hull, Mechanical and Electrical Systems Modernization Program, the Pentagon said in its Friday awards digest.

Solicitation documents indicate the areas of work include updates, repairs and maintenance at various levels of the ship systems integration process whether that vessel be an aircraft carrier, surface ship or submarine.

That process also includes digital refreshes to both hardware electronic components.

Each company that bid for the contract got a seat:

  • Continental Tide Defense Systems
  • Delphinius Engineering
  • Epsilon Systems
  • General Dynamics’ IT services segment
  • Huntington Ingalls Industries
  • La Playa
  • L3Harris Technologies (through its L-3 Unidyne unit)
  • Oceaneering International
  • Q.E.D. Systems
  • Serco’s U.S. subsidiary
  • Tecnico
