CGI taps new lead for health care business

CGI Federal has hired nearly two-decade public sector veteran Horace Blackman to lead its health and human services business.

CGI Federal has tapped Horace Blackman to lead its health and human services business. 

He comes to the company with over 20 years of experience working with government and public sector health care organizations.

Blackman's private sector career includes leadership roles at Edifecs, Cognizant, Leidos and Lockheed Martin. In his previous roles, he has been responsible for business development, program execution and strategic planning.

He also brings government experience having served in IT leadership roles during his six years at the Department of Veterans Affairs.

In 2014, he was honored as a Federal 100 winner by Washington Technology’s sibling publication FCW. He’s also a three-time recipient of the FedHealthIT 100 award.

He is a graduate of George Mason University, where he now serves on the board of visitors and is vice rector. He also has a master’s degree from the Darden Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of Virginia.
