Carahsoft's Cloud Purchasing Program

Carahsoft has leveraged its history of partnerships to build a solution to allow agencies to more quickly provision cloud services.

With its heritage of forming partnership with large commercial technology companies, Carahsoft has always had a focus on finding innovative ways for government customers to buy the solutions they need to solve their most pressing problems.

In 2019, the company created the Carahsoft Cloud Purchasing Program that lets is public sector customers buy cloud solutions. They built of their VMware software program that utilized a pay as you go model.

Carahsoft expanded the consumption based model to a variety of contract vehicles as well broadening the range of cloud services available. The model uses a point system that allows customers flexibility in how they buy and pay for services. Customers can pre-pay or pay as they go. A single dashboard allows them to monitor their points.

The cloud purchasing program has simplified purchasing for customers while bringing access to more products and services. Early adopters have been the Air Force, Army, EPA, NASA and the state of Hawaii.

While the CPP already features many vendors and technologies, such as AWS, Google, Microsoft, VMware, Tableau, Red Hat, Atlassian, and RSA, the company is adding more vendors as it evolves.

CPP allows agencies to leverage their enterprise-wide buying power, receive volume discounts, and enable greater visibility and cost control of their on-prem and cloud deployments.
