Peraton takes in Space Force contract extension

Peraton gets a five-year extension on its contract for orbital analysis and other support to a Space Force unit.

Peraton has booked a five-year, $10 million extension on its contract for orbital analysis and other professional support services to a unit of Space Force.

Peterson-Schriever Garrison in Colorado Springs operates surveillance, communications and navigation satellites in support of missions involving space domain awareness, signal protection and availability.

Herndon, Virginia-based Peraton said Tuesday it works with three Space Force squadrons on conjunction assessment and collision avoidance for satellite systems and constellations. The company also provides what it calls “over-the-shoulder” support in the event of satellite anomalies.

Such support includes advice to satellite operators on conserving fuel in avoiding collisions, modifying planned maneuvers and assisting in the disposal of old satellites.
