Geospark Analytics adds former Engility exec

Three years since its launch, Geospark Analytics adds former Engility Corp. executive Amanda Brownfield to help lead the next phase of growth.

Geospark Analytics said Tuesday it has hired former Engility Corp. executive and nearly two-decade market veteran Amanda Brownfield as president.

Brownfield is tasked to help Geospark Analytics get ready for a new phase of growth and expansion into both public sector and commercial markets with respect to global threat and risk assessment services.

She will work with CEO Omar Balkissoon on implementing the company’s overall strategy and vision, plus helping to oversee its financial health.

Herndon, Virginia-based Geospark Analytics spun out of former parent OGSystems in 2017 to commercialize a geospatial intelligence and data analytics product for government and private sector clients. Known as BlueGlass, the tool is designed to use automation techniques in collecting data from a wide range of open source and proprietary data feeds.

At Engility, she was most recently a senior vice president and chairman of the board for the Forfeiture Support Associates joint venture that Amentum (formerly AECOM Management Services) is a partner in.

Brownfield helped lead Engility through its sale to Science Applications International Corp. in 2019, and also was part of the management team of TASC when that company was acquired by Engility in 2015.

Geospark Analytics is backed by private equity firm General Catalyst and has also received funding from Zero Gravity Capital.
