Gryphon adds DOD, DHS vet Grady

Gryphon Technologies brings onto its executive team Claire Grady, a veteran official from the Homeland Security and Defense departments.

Gryphon Technologies has appointed nearly three-decade government service veteran Claire Grady as an executive vice president with responsibility for corporate departments.

Grady will also oversee the company’s contracts, procurement, human capital, facilities, IT and security functions. She will report to CEO P.J. Braden, Gryphon said Thursday.

Her most recent roles in government were at the Homeland Security Department from August 2017 until April 2019, during which she was undersecretary for management. The last 12 months of that stint at DHS saw her in the role of deputy secretary until she resigned on on April 10.

She is also a former director of defense procurement and acquisition policy at the Defense Department.

Prior to DOD, Grady was the Coast Guard’s deputy assistant commandant for acquisition and director of acquisition services from 2013 to 2015. Grady was head of Coast Guard contracting activity from 2007 to 2013.
