General Dynamics' board adds Haney

General Dynamics’ board of directors has elected as a new member Cecil Haney, a retired Navy admiral who once led U.S. Strategic Command.

His term took effect Wednesday, the company said in a release.

Haney retired from the Navy two years ago after a nearly four-decade career that included the Stratcom leadership role as well as commander of the Pacific Fleet.

Strategic Command includes nuclear forces, missile defense, space, cyberspace and electronic warfare.
