Navy picks one newcomer, keeps five incumbents for $636M training contract

The Navy chooses one newcomer and keeps five incumbents for a $636.9 million joint force development and training support contract.
The Navy has chosen six companies for a potential six-and-a-half year, $636.9 million contract for joint force development and training support services to the office of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
Companies will vie for task orders in technology and other professional services to help joint forces adapt to changing threat environments. Work will take place over a six-year base period and the contract also includes a six-month option after that, the Defense Department said in its Monday awards digest.
Eight bids were submitted and awardees are:
- Booz Allen Hamilton
- Calibre Systems
- Capstone
- General Dynamics’ IT services division
- Northrop Grumman
- Science Applications International Corp.
Calibre is a newcomer to this iteration of the contract while the other five are incumbents, according to Deltek data. Another incumbent in MacAulay-Brown was not selected. The current contract has a $876.9 million ceiling over five years and is slated to expire April 30, 2019.
Work areas include cybersecurity, exercise and event and simulation and architecture design; planning; concept, scenario and courseware development; logistics; simulation model management and operations; and facility operations.
