Harris names Dana Mehnert communications president

Harris Corp. appoints Dana Mehnert, currently chief global development business officer, as president of the defense technology company’s communications business.
Harris Corp. said Thursday it has appointed Dana Mehnert, currently chief global development business officer, as president of the defense technology company’s communications business.
The transition takes effect Sept. 30 and Mehnert will succeed the retiring Chris Young, a 36-year veteran of Harris who moved to the company through its acquisition of Exelis three years ago.
Mehnert currently oversees company-wide initiatives to drive revenue growth across all three business segments. His career includes 10 years as president of its radio frequency communications business.
Young joined Exelis in 2011 after the defense contractor spun off from ITT.
