The Energy Department wants quotes from woman-owned small businesses for a five-year contract for cyber and physical security.

The contract would support the department’s Office of Radiological Security (ORS) with global efforts to secure nuclear and radiological materials.

Officials want support to implement the security enhancements to protect radioactive material both domestically and internationally. Work would include providing the International Atomic Energy Agency through training programs and developing related guidance. The company would lead coordination with officials from the departments of Energy and Homeland Security, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and other stakeholders.

Among the work, the task areas include:

  • Drafting cyber security guidance for ORS program-wide use
  • Developing security awareness training
  • Participating as a cyber security Subject Matter Expert at the various working groups, including the Nuclear/Cyber Interagency Working Group
  • Conducting assessments for ORS-deployed equipment

DOE released the request for quotes Aug. 17. Responses are due by Aug. 30.
