DigitalGlobe adds Northrop vet Edwards

DigitalGlobe hires former Northrop Grumman executive Mike Edwards as vice president and senior adviser for defense programs.

Maxar Technologies' DigitalGlobe business has hired former Northrop Grumman executive Mike Edwards as vice president and senior adviser for defense programs.

Edwards will help lead work with the U.S. military and other aerospace-and-defense companies, DigitalGlobe said Thursday.

DigitalGlobe was acquired by space technology company Maxar in October of last year and is now one of its four major businesses. Maxar changed to its current name upon that deal's closure from its former identity as MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates.

Edwards spent 11 years at Northrop and was more recently its corporate director of space, intelligence and cyber. He is also a 13-year Pentagon veteran and his roles there included leadership of the Defense Department's Interagency Protection Task Force and Defense Intelligence Agency's Emerging Threat Working Group.
