SAP NS2 buys intelligence IT firm TMA

SAP National Security Services acquires intelligence community IT contractor Technology Management Associates to add new work in “C4ISR” and engineering services.

SAP National Security Services -- a subsidiary of the German software giant -- said Tuesday it has acquired intelligence community IT contractor Technology Management Associates to add new work in “C4ISR” and engineering services.

Terms of the transaction were undisclosed and the deal was completed on April 30, while TMA will operate as a subsidiary of SAP NS2.

Chantilly, Virginia-based TMA focuses on command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance technologies that support national security programs.

The deal seeks to combine SAP NS2’s data fusion and analysis services with TMA’s C4ISR and engineering work for intelligence agencies.

Investment bank KippsDeSanto and law firm Holland and Knight advised TMA on the transaction and Cooley LLP represented SAP NS2.

Herndon, Virginia-based SAP NS2’s last acquisition was two years ago for Volume Integration to grow software engineering and analytics work, including services for cloud environments used by national security agencies.

SAP NS2 launched in 2012 out of a realignment that combined the SAP Government Support and Services businesses with the Sybase federal division.
